1. Scalp Massage

Perhaps the easiest and cheapest way to get thicker hair is a scalp massage. According to one study, regular scalp massages may lead to thicker hair by stretching the cells of hair follicles.

A scalp massage is similar to a body massage but uses your fingertips only. You can gently massage your scalp with essential oils, or when you’re washing your hair. Some studies have shown that both lavender and peppermint oils may help hair grow. (To make sure you don’t have an allergy reaction to oils before you use) Also, you can also use special tools for scalp massage.

    2. Anti-thinning Shampoo

Anti-thining shampoo targets individual hair not just the roots and makes each hair strong and thick. There are many Korean anti-thinning shampoos on the market. Labo H or Dr. Forhair Folligen shampoos are the most popular among Koreans. These products contain ingredients like protein, collagen, vitamins, and amino acids to boost a healthier scalp in the long term.

    3. Multivitamins

Getting enough of certain key vitamins and minerals to balance your general health is also important to maintain healthy hair. Sometimes malnourishment may disturb the growing new hair from follicles. Zinc, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, folic acid, and Iron prevent hair loss and improve your hair health. A blood test can help you to figure out which vitamins and minerals you deficit but make sure to talk with a medical professional before you take a supplement. Because taking too many supplements doesn’t mean you will get extra healthy hair, but it can be harmful to your body.

    4. Biotin

Biotin, also known as vitamin B7 is a water-soluble nutrient that’s naturally found in foods but is not stored for a long time in the body. According to the National Institutes of Health, biotin stimulates keratin boosting hair and increasing follicle growth.

    5. Omega-3 and Omega-6 Fatty Acids

Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are certain types of nutrients that can’t be made by the human body. They play an important role in body functions and we can easily get them from certain foods. According to a study, women who took omega 3, 6, and antioxidants for 6 months developed thicker hair.

    6. Minoxidil

Minoxidil which is sold under the brand name Rogaine is a medication for the treatment of high blood pressure and pattern hair loss. Food and Drug Administration approved it for hair loss treatment in 2006. It is technically an antihypertensive vasodilator, it works by helping the blood flow to the hair follicles and increasing follicular size and hair shaft diameter, stimulating and prolonging hair growth. The product is available in both liquid or foam without a prescription, and also in oral tablet form with a prescription. According to a report, nine out of ten men keep or regrow their hair after 16 weeks.

    7. Finasteride

Finasteride (Propecia) is another type of hair loss medication. Unlike minoxidil, Propecia is a medication for treating hair loss and benign prostatic hyperplasia in men. So, only men can take this for hair loss and it means women should avoid this medication because it causes serious side effects to women. This medication is only provided by oral tablet, and a prescription is required.

    8. Hair Transplant

All the methods I have mentioned above can reduce thinning and can add some volume to your hair. However, for sure method would be the hair transplant or proper treatment in the clinic.
