How many hair follicles need to be extracted for successful hair transplantation?

For patients in their twenty’s and thirty’s, hair transplantation is carried out to focus on hair density, whereas for those in their forty’s or older, hair transplantation must be focused on the natural appearance rather than hair density.
“How many hair follicles can you receive during each session of hair transplantation?”
Our answer may be different for every patient.
The number of hair follicles that can be transplanted may vary from person to person. Every patient has a different size area that can be harvested for hair follicles.
After determining the number of hair follicles, we then decide the number of hair follicles to be transplanted to get the most natural result.
Is transplanting as many hair follicles as possible the only factor in getting the best result? Our answer is no.
Our medical staff always take into account the possibility of follow-up surgery, considering the progression of hair loss after the hair transplantation.
“The density of your hair will not change even after receiving hair transplants.”
You can always prevent further hair loss by receiving follow-up treatment.
Unfortunately, hair loss may continue even after getting hair transplants. If the patients choose not to prevent further hair loss through our simple follow-up treatments, the joy they gain after receiving hair transplants may be shortlived.
Follow-up treatments may also help maintain the number of hair follicles, which can help reduce the probability of extensive hair extraction. Therefore, if possible, please make sure to receive our follow-up treatment for a while even after getting hair transplants to maintain great results for decades.
Follicles extracted is NOT equal to follicles implanted
The number of hair follicles to be used in hair transplantation depends on the proficiency and expertise of the medical staff. The number of extracted hair follicles and the number of implantable hair follicles may not be the same. Up to 20% of extracted hair follicles may be damaged or lost during hair transplants.
Our hair follicles are small and fragile. Therefore, each step within the process: extraction – separation – transplantation, is critical.
The loss rate of hair follicles during the extraction process can be up to 20 percent. For this reason our doctor usually transplant extra grafts to compensate for survivability.
