Pre-operative Precautions
- Consult your doctor for special instructions if you are currently taking any medications.
- Stop taking any medication unless it is absolutely necessary.
- Patients with high blood pressure or diabetes should continue their prescribed medications. However, if you are taking Aspirin or anticoagulant (blood-thinning) medications, you must discontinue them 7 days before surgery, or follow your doctor’s instructions.
- Since healthy hair follicles lead to better hair restoration results, it is advisable to undergo Meso-therapy or stem cell growth factor treatments to improve scalp condition prior to surgery.
- Check with your doctor if you are using topical treatments such as Minoxidil 5% solution or anti-hair loss shampoo before surgery.
- Inform your doctor at Maxwell if you have ever had an allergic reaction to anesthesia or antibiotics.
- If you have gray or white hair, it is recommended that you dye your hair black 2–3 days before surgery, as gray and white hair are more difficult to separate during the procedure.
- Stop smoking and drinking alcohol at least 7 days before surgery.
- Do not wear makeup, jewelry, or contact lenses, and remove nail polish and acrylic nails before arriving for surgery.
